How to Renew Your Registration

If your plate is expired more than 90 days or will expire within the next 90 days, you may not be able to renew online or at a kiosk.

Renew Your Registration

  1. Online – Renew your plate online here.
  2. Kiosk – Use one of our self-service kiosk locations.
  3. Mail – Renew by mail. Checks should be made payable to: Sumner County Clerk.
  4. Drive-Thru – Available in Gallatin and Hendersonville for basic renewals.
  5. In Office – Visit our offices in Gallatin or Hendersonville. View locations.

Special Situations

Fees

  • $80.00 – Walk-in customers
  • $87.00 – By mail with a new plate
  • $83.00 – By mail with a decal
  • Card payments include a 2.25% + $0.25 fee

Requirements

  • Proof of identity
  • New county residents must register immediately (no grace period)
